New 16X DVD-ROM drive offers speed and multimedia performance
SAN JOSE, CA - Acer Peripherals America (APA) today introduced a new addition to their Optical Drive line: the Acer 1640A, a 16x DVD-ROM drive. The 1640A is the fastest DVD-ROM in the U.S. market today, proof of Acer's commitment to cutting edge technology. This 16X Drive will offer data transfer rates of up to 21,600 KB/sec and CD-ROM transfer rates of up to 6,000 KB/sec. The 1640A will be available in June at a suggested retail price of $179.

PowerPlayerä automatically detects and plays many different file types including all types of audio/video files and MP3's.
